My Mother's Day Weekend

Saturday

After a quick breakfast, we dropped off the gang (Johann, Javi and yayas) in Pasig. I intended to go to Rockwell that day for the MomExpo. I wanted to get a coupon from Tumble Tots. Johann started out with that. I wanted to see if Javi would like it too.

I'd also like to try several variants of insect repellent for Johann. I already tried several brands. But they were either too weak to repel mosquitoes or they reeked too much of citronella. I got the patch and a spray from GIGA. So far, the spray is working. I have yet to test the patch.

Lunch was at Pepper Lunch. Vic didn't want to go in because we'd end up smelling like food by the time we get out. I've been craving for it for several days so Vic indulged me. Yep, we both smelled like peppery steak though he got a cheese steak sandwich.

Dessert was taken from the Baker's Dozen at the Concourse Level. We got ourselves some Bico, Leche Flan and French Macaroons. Yum!

We passed by the Karl Edward Bazaar on our way back to pick up the kids. That was another treat for me. But, that is another story.

Sunday

Waking up to a hug and a greeting from my dear husband was definitely a pleasant way to start the day. Though my husband firmly believes the day was created to boost commercialism, it is nice to be remembered and given importance. After all, this taxing career of mine has no financial rewards, just lots of hugs, kisses and love.

We had breakfast and lunch at our usual spots. I don't know why, but the day felt different. I was getting senti during mass when our kids sat, well-behaved, on our laps. I felt more motherly then than giving birth or nursing my babies. I wish I felt that sense of contentment everyday.

Since we had some time to kill before lunch, Vic dropped me off at the mall for some quality time with myself (if there is such a thing). My feet were tired already and he hasn't picked me up yet. Apparently, he fed the kids and the yayas before getting me. Good thinking Hun! Less gastos na din for us.

For lunch, we treated my mother (plus father and sibling) to lunch. I didn't realize that everyone decided to do the same thing that day. We didn't think that we'd be wait-listed in all three restos at the mall. We ended up at Cyma after several minutes of waiting. Service was quite slow. I don't blame them, because it was pretty crowded that day. We left the place when it was nearly time for a late merienda.

Now that I am a mother myself, I realize the trouble my own mother went through raising all three of us. Everyday is a struggle to hold on to my patience. Nobody said running a household is equally stressful. Wala talagang pahinga. How do other moms manage? I didn't expect it to be this difficult. Mothers are our real everyday heroes.

There were no flowers, nor gifts that day but, it felt special.

Excited

That is how I felt when I got up from bed this morning. There are just so many things to do and to look forward to this week. I'd have to... ... get hold of CCP to discuss a possible tie-up for the next Three Festival. I may need to get some contacts from Tito Bal. ... get the space application form from Ayala Malls. ... visit the furniture fair at SMX this weekend. ... get a new copy of our marriage certificate for Vic's Visa renewal. ... obtain franchise terms from my top two food chains. ... interview the new househelp prospect. ...see if we can finally sell our SUV to make room for a bigger one. I hope I can get started soon. I hope Javi's yaya gets well right away so I can slip and get some of these done.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will turn in their graves seein

Life Lately

For several months now, my husband and I have been juggling the EV importing business and this ambulatory center we are putting up.  In August, we hosted a grand birthday party for FIL, received balikbayans then sent them off.  The kids started school in August too.  Did I say that their schools are quite far from each other? It has been a busy past few months.  I am not used to waking up early every morning to bring the kids to school then head off to work.  I am starting to feel tired.   It is an adjustment.  At first, I was enjoying being an "empty nester" when all kids are in school.  But now that work is piling up, I miss those quiet times at home.   I am so looking forward to having a vacation soon. I need to recharge.
