So, Vic and I stayed up till the wee hours of Monday just to avail of PAL's promo for the coming months. It seemed like everyone had the same strategy as ours. I started my online search right before midnight. I figured, by the time it would finish searching, I would see the promo right before my eyes. Thirty minutes had passed, still no search results. Another twenty minutes resulted to nothing. We decided to sleep on it. I just knew the online reservation thingy of PAL just couldn't handle the load. Diba sila nag-stress test man lang? The site hangs on any ordinary day, why should I expect anything else on a major traffic day? I woke up for Javi's 4am feeding. I tried searching once again. Sayang din naman kasi. ... of S&R yesterday. The main objective of my visit was to get candy canes for Javi's baptismal centerpieces. Somebody from the Newlywed group suggested that I can find green canes at S&R. Instead of going all the way to The Fort, I went to the Congressional branch instead. Upon arriving, I inquired about the membership. I am torn between getting the Day Pass or the Gold Membership. The Day Pass holder would be charged an additional 5%. Becoming a member for P700 will entitle the holder free membership to all S&R branches. The CSR suggested that I check out the place first to see if I'm interested in purchasing a lot. That would, at least, help me decide if I wanted to become a member. So, I went around. I saw a lot of great stuff. Some expensive, some really reasonably-priced. I was convinced. Besides, I wanted a reason to frequent the place. I miss shopping at Costco. S&R is a good alternative. I'm sure we caused quite a commotion at Greenbelt. We were all squealing with excitement specially when we neared draw #69 and the last one. I was very fortunate to sit beside the two winners. After her name was drawn, Abbie couldn't continue tallying the draws. Lia kept saying she's so unlucky with raffles. Looks like her luck has changed now. It was fun meeting everyone. Congrats to our very lucky winners, Lia and Abbie! I am looking forward to the next N@W meet-up.
