Jampacked!

This week, I hit the ground running. Even if yesterday was a holiday, I accomplished a lot. It was Divi in the morning for Christmas tree shopping and a 3-hour TATLO meeting in the afternoon. With around 60 days before the festival, we are starting to feel agitated. Really, there are so many things to do but, so little time. Over the weekend, it was decided that we will end the year and welcome the new one in HK. Vic and I will bring the Johann and Javi. Then Vic wanted to bring ever-loyal Ate Gera with us. So, here I am, getting frantic over getting her passport ready before we leave. I can't do that just yet because she needs her mother's maiden middle name to file for a DFA appointment. Before that, I'd have to get her Birth Certificate and some valid IDs. To top all that, she is only 17, so I'd have to get her a DSWD travel clearance. May I just scream? Aaaarrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Now, I am off to the bank before it opens. Then, to the post office for t...

It Was A Productive Day

Yesterday, the husband took a day off from work to accompany me to the land of Divi. I planned to get prizes for Javi's birthday. Vic wanted to buy stuff for the home. Right after breakfast, we trooped to Divi and searched for Anding's toy store. I got a lot of prizes, plus some decors for the Halloween Party. It was pretty difficult to look for Backyardigans items. So, I just settled for the farm animals and other non-farm-related toys. I got shirts for the boys. Even Vic got something for himself. I ended up not getting anything for myself. Vic urged me to get Christmas decors already. But since I had no theme in mind, it was difficult to weed through the variety of decors and colors in front of me. We decided not to get anything yet. After a quick lunch, we went to the nearby Soler/Alonzo Streets. We were looking for light fixtures for the part we're expanding and for the living area. We must've gone through every store in search of the one that's cl...

City of Golden Friendship

Our quick visit to one of the key cities in Mindanao was filled to the brim. It was extra grueling because I was arranging Vic's surprise from faraway. My hectic day started at 4:30am. I needed to be at the NAIA Terminal 3 for the 6AM call time. I had to be in early since I was assigned "Punong-abala" for that part of the tour. Our choir manager was already in CDO giving a talk. Being the PA, I had to take note of people who aren't checked in yet. It wasn't a big deal except for "some" small issue. A couple of people failed to arrive at the arranged call time because they overslept! When I called them for a location check, they were still at home, unpacked and not ready to leave. There was nothing I could do but tell them to hurry. I wasn't too worried, since there is another flight leaving in four hours. I just informed them about their options. After about 45mins, they haven't arrived at the airport yet. They had to go back to get t...

Karl forever

Yesterday, I made an unscheduled visit. My family went out of the way, all the way to The Fort, just to get to the NBC tent. The main purpose was to get some sleep-shirts that could double as nursing gowns. Of course, I had several more items when I came out of the tent. My mission was accomplished. ------------------------ When the Holiday season nears, I frequent this specific bazaar at The Fort. Before I had Johann, I always stop by the NBC tent after hearing mass. I love this place because it has a very wide selection of clothes, accessories and food. This bazaar is also the perfect place to search for unique gift items. Most importantly, I can haggle (not as much as I can in Divi but still....) One drawback, however, is the entrance fee. It's not much. But, if you are used to going to the mall that doesn't charge upon entry, you would be dismayed. Now that we are approaching Christmas, more options are available to the ever-generous gift-giver. I plan to make...

The land of Divi

Since the husband is enjoying himself in Lalah land, I made it a point to make plans for myself while he is away. Yesterday, I decided to hire a driver for the day and make a trip out of it. I don't want to stress myself by driving in the the narrow and confusing streets of Manila. The main target of the day is Divi. But, since we are in the area, I decided to stop by the luggage sale in Juan Luna first. Unfortunately, the place was located on the other end of the street. Turning back, on a one-way street, is nearly impossible. We decided to make that our last stop instead. I initially planned on getting some additional baby stuff for Baby#2. I also wanted to get some new tree ornaments. Mother wanted to get a tall Christmas tree to match the high ceiling of their soon-to-be finished house. My mission was accomplished. I purchased a couple of dozens of gauze diapers at 230/dozen, a couple of milk dispensers at 75 each and a cleaning brush also at 75. I was surprised that th...
