That's what I've been telling myself all afternoon. I went to the nearby mall after lunch to have my haircut and to pick up some necessities from the grocery. On my way to the salon, I noticed that the stores were on sale. I made a mental note to go around before going to the grocery. As if I needed reminding! After an hour and a half of primping, I made my usual stops. All the stores I frequent are on sale. Most of them give 50% discounts on clothing. I tried on several items. But, there was nothing that tugged my heart enough for me to bring it home. *I can hear the husband saying, " Buti na lang !"* I went home with nothing in tow, just groceries. I did what came to do. My husband would be proud.

One of the items in my wish list is to get a new pair of sunglasses. The one I currently use for driving is 4 years old. There are visible scratches on the lens and the plastic frame is bent abnormally. ------------------ I remember buying that pair in Rustan's . It was on sale. It was worth a little over P3000. I have never spent that much on a pair of sunglasses so I was a bit undecided. But, it was the only pair that looked good on me. It was extremely difficult to get a pair that would fit my face. After much thought, I bought it. The following weekend, I showed up in Tagaytay sporting my new sunnies. I didn't know that my SIL also bought herself a pair. We were wearing the same brand of sunnnies and the same brand (and style) of shirt. The only difference was the color and probably, the shirt size. ------------------ Anyway, I think it's about time I get a new pair. I've been searching for something I really like. ...the two pairs of shoes weren't for sale yesterday. (Find out more about that here .) It is because this pair is for me! These are the most comfy two-and-a-half-inch heels I've worn. Yep, better than Naturalizer or Aerosoles. It's like I'm walking on a carpet all the time. In addition to that, it doesn't look as if it's made for "manangs." Best of all, it is 45% off the original price! Yey for me! Thank God, I can retire my 4y/o Naturalizer heels.

...do they display items at the store window if they have no intention of selling them? After having brunch with my husband and my little boy, we were on our way back to the car when two pairs of shoes caught my eye. Two shops, one beside the other, had really nice pair of sandals on display. I went inside the first store to see if they have the nice wedge strappy sandals in my size. I was informed that they don't have any stock because they weren't for sale. Disappointed, I went into the next store beside it. This time, I wanted to check out the nice pair of black-heeled shoes. Again, the SA told me that it is only for the mannequins. Ganda! It seems that I wasn't meant to get any pair of shoes today. I hope this doesn't start a trend. I used to have good luck with shoes.

Our little boy, Johann, is afraid of male strangers. He usually smiles at female strangers. This is the reason why we frequent Cut4Tots in Trinoma, where they have female stylists. However, this time, going to Trinoma for his haircut alone would be too far and too much of an inconvenience. We decided to try out the Kid's Salon at the Podium. We initially didn't like the Kid's Salon branch in Rustan's. First and foremost, they only had male hair cutters. That posed as a big distraction to Johann. There were other factors that I do not care to elaborate on. You may read it here instead. Anyhow, we gave the salon at the Podium a try. I was very pleased. The stylist knows how to handle kids. He knows how to divert the child's attention to the TV or toys. He talks to them gently. He is also very careful with handling scissors, making sure that the pointed part is away for unexpected head turns. Most importantly, he cut Johann's hair according to my spe...

Yes, our night out pushed through. It didn't start off too well, though. We had to beat the traffic jam in and outside the mall. Valet service was a pain. Getting tickets for the movie was a pain. It seems that everyone went to the mall instead of staying in on that rainy night. Needless to say, we got a good dinner, a cup of thick Italian Milk Chocolate for me and an unfinished movie*. This Saturday night out was a first in a long time. I've forgotten how crowded malls can get on a Saturday night. ---------------- * Just when Batman's identity was about to be revealed, Cinema 6 lost the volume. It took a good three minutes before it was restored. We missed quite a lot. It didn't end there. A few minutes after, we lost the movie altogether. We've had enough booboos that evening. We decided to call it a night.

Our usual Saturday night dinner with Vic's side of family is cancelled. So, tonight we're on our own. It has been a long time since we had a Saturday evening to ourselves. Most of the time, he's too tired to go out on Saturday evenings. That being the case, we usually head back home after our dinner date with his family. But, tonight will be different. We'll probably take in a movie and have dinner in TriNoMa, not necessarily in that order. Maybe, if I am lucky, I can coax Vic to share a dessert and a hot cup of chocolate at Max Brenner. We'll see how it goes.
