Sleeping

...is one of the luxuries I'd have to trade off when looking after my kids. It is also one of the luxuries I look forward to when my boys are in deep slumber. For that reason, putting my toddler to bed is one skill I have to master. So far, two things work for us: 1) "Deadma." It could be Mama pretending to be asleep or Daddy watching TV while the boy tumbles and turns on the bed. Once we hear steady breathing, we know sleep has come. 2) Scratch the itch. If the first one didn't work, this one will. The little boy likes to sleep on top of a queen-sized pillow. He usually lifts his shirt to scratch his tummy when he's ready to sleep. If he has his back turned, I work my fingers onto the itchy bumps on his back. This has worked several times. I hope it doesn't lose its effectivity.

No wonder it is so expensive

I stumbled upon a video discussing how an Hermes bag is produced. The family who owns that brand is incredibly lucky. I suddenly want to be a part of that family. On the other hand, I'd settle for working for them. If you want to see it for yourself, click this link .

Kart at Nuvo

After hearing mass at the ever-crowded St. Peter's, we headed off to Libis. There was ample parking space at the back of the Nuvo City showroom. The rear entrance was lined up with Nuvo's agents welcoming shoppers. Apparently, the free ticket entitles the holder to a free talk about Nuvo City's latest developments. The bazaar area was quite small. The selection is different from the one you'd normally see at the NBC tent. There were several stalls selling food, export over-run items, bags,...

The Spa Experience

I went to the mall yesterday to do some errands and to check out the shoe models that I wanted Vic to bring home. With one last thing unaccomplished, I decided to kill time and enjoy a relaxing foot massage. Upon entering The Spa , I was greeted by a Balinese-inspired interior. At the reception area, I was asked to choose my preferred service from their menu. I couldn't decide between the Feetish Foot Spa (P350, 45mins) or the Peppermint Foot Rub (P750, 60mins). Since I needed the massage more than anything, I got the latter. Upon deciding, I was asked to pay upfront. (This was a first for me, as most spas usually perform the service before asking for the service fee.) I was directed to the Ladies' door. The small reception area opened up to a deep and dark hallway that led to wet areas and massage cabanas. An attendant showed me my locker and handed me a robe, towel and slippers. Since I was just having my feet pampered, I begged off on the robe and towel. Sitting on ...
