Mystery Shopper

When we moved out of my in-law's house, we left some of the stuff in the rooms we stayed in. Last weekend, I decided to go through the pile. Most of which are Javi's birthday and Christmas gifts. To our surprise, several packages were empty. Looks like somebody decided to "shop" thinking that we wouldn't notice. There goes another HAY NAKU moment for me.

Grabeh!

I just feel so special today. I nearly cried when I heard the communion song earlier. I won't give you details. But, I'll leave you with the lyrics of I Offer My Life by Don Moen. It is one of my favorites. All that I am, all that I have I lay them down before you, oh Lord All my regrets, all my acclaims The joy and the pain, I'm making them yours Lord, I offer my life to you Everything I've been through Use it for your glory Lord I offer my days to you Lifting my praise to you As a pleasing sacrifice Lord I offer you my life Things in the past, things yet unseen Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true All of my heart, all of my praise My heart and my hands are lifted to you Lord, I offer my life to you Everything I've been through Use it for your glory Lord I offer my days to you Lifting my praise to you As a pleasing sacrifice Lord I offer you my life What can we give That you have not given? And what do we have That is not already yours? All we possess Ar...

LOST

You'll know that it's a lost cause when... ... you ask for your cellphone and she gives you the remote control. ... you ask for a " kutsara " and she gives you a " tinidor ." ... she cleans the tub for the 2 nd time and gets grounded for the 2 nd time. ... you ask for butter and she looks for it everywhere BUT the ref. ... you tell her to use plastic / silicone ladles for teflon -coated pans EVERYDAY. ... she mixes the fabric softener with the detergent when washing the clothes. ... up to now, she still doesn't know the basic colors. No wonder her old employer reprimanded her everyday. I don't blame the old employer. -------------------- I thought I was doing a noble deed of trying to train her and teach her the "urban" ways. I used to believe that everyone is trainable. Maybe she is. But after months of trying, I've run out of patience. I don't want my third child looking like her.

The Oddest Things

Now that Johann is getting stronger and smarter, he is figuring out how things work like turning appliances on and off. He gets excited when he finds a new door to open. He manages to surprise us with his new skills. Just recently, I opened the ref only to find Javi's hairbrush cooling in the shelf. A week before, he parked his tiny toy car on top of his Jellyace. I wonder what other odd thing I'll find inside my ref in the days to come. Come to think of it, I've seen some really unusual things in the ref. > face creams - I once opened my aunt's ref to find a myriad of creams in the door shelves. This may not be unusual to some since there are cosmetic refs in the market. > blood supply - I used to go with my mother during her rounds in Rizal Medical. I was still very young, about 3 or 4y/o. As curious as Johann is, I tried to explore what is within my reach. I opened the chiller thinking I'd find food. I didn't find any. Instead, there were bags ...

The Rain

...is an ardent reminder of my loss. You see, I left my fairly new jacket in the hotel in California. I removed it from the cabinet so I'd see it on my way out. Apparently, the jacket is white, so are the sheets. In my haste to leave for the SFO airport, I forgot all about it. A few weeks later I called the hotel to check if they found it. It is not in the log book of left behind items. I bet the housekeeping personnel loved it, too and chose to claim it as her own. Hmp! I am not the type of person who loses things. Neither am I the type who gets attached to material things. Nanghihinayang lang ako na di ko siya masyado nagamit. Tapos ngayon, kailangan ko ng jacket na matino. Grrr talaga. I just got that jacket at the beginning of the year. It was such a good purchase then. It has a foldable hood, a thin fleece lining and really water-proof. It is a perfect light jacket for spring and also appropriate for the rain. Now, I am having a hard time finding a replacement. ...

Praying Daw

There's this photo circulating in Facebook about Prayer. I am a fan of the deed but this picture makes me wonder if the girl is indeed praying. Ready to pray or concentrating not to barf?
