Should He Go Turbo?

Several months ago, we saw someone drive an Audi TT along the highway. The husband was salivating. I bet he was thinking, if only we can afford an audi turbo. For now, he has to be content with Japanese cars. He is currently focusing his efforts on pimping our family car. He's been planning to change the speakers and install a small DVD player and monitor in the family car. I wonder if he is thinking about installing a turbo charger in there. Would it work with a CRDi engine? It would definitely help in long drives. He often says that it lacks power, most specially when he tries to overtake slow moving vehicles. I don't blame him. He is quite used to cars that accelerate instantly. If only http://www.turbochargerpros.com accepts international orders....

Roadtesting

We woke up early last Saturday because we had a lunch reservation at Antonio's. The first order of the day is to drop off the kids in Kapitolyo then a quick change of cars. Vic wanted to test the strength of his dad's new toy. It is a old car but it still garners a lot of attention from other motorists. The color is a bit unusual. Hay naku, if only they knew. The car looks pretty. But, it is in need of a lot of repairs. The previous owner failed to give it love and attention. I was afraid that we wouldn't make it to Tagaytay because of the temp warning. It may have been not used to the exercise it was given that day. It still accelerates like a powerful European car. But being used to the bulkier vehicles with better suspension, I was afraid that the car would give out. We got to our destination and back with no problems...just sore bodies from the seats and poor suspension.

New Toy

We got the replacement for our old family car yesterday. It is good that we didn't have to wait long. We got the color and the model we wanted. Though I will be the one who'll drive it most of the time, Vic considers it his newest toy . He is already thinking of ways to pimp it. The headlights were already converted to HID. Johann was supposedly assigned to the last row. I guess, he is getting claustrophobic, he refused to go to the back. We put his car seat behind the driver's seat. He went there with no qualms. Javi's car seat is now assigned to the last row. It was difficult to make it fit at first. But, we managed. I am still getting used to the size. I have attempted slipping through cramped spaces in traffic jams. So far, so good.

Survivors in HK - Day 3

By this time, I haven't gotten myself anything of value. All I've gotten on the first day were pasalubong items for the people back home. This day was solely for shopping. I hoped to squeeze in some time for outlet shopping in Citygate. That morning, after breakfast, Vic, Vic's dad, Johann and I went to Mongkok to get Vic his new toy. He has this sudden interest in photography so our current point-and-shoot camera would not suffice. He's been scouting for one with a good price back in Manila so he knows if HK offers a better price. He indeed got a better one from Broadway, complete with a memory stick, tripod and bag. With his craving for an SLR satisfied already, we are off to my hunt for great bargains. Since it was only my second time in HK, I did not know where to go. Besides, the place where we can go to is limited to stroller-friendly areas. The shops in Mongkok were filled with items for winter so I didn't end up with a lot of pieces. I got several ...

Al and George despite the Bad weather

My mother was rushing me last night. She was afraid that Vic's new toy may be submerged in the flood and that I may not be able to get out. Since it is an A/T car, that would be a very big problem. The car isn't even a month old yet. Our next concern was how to get inside the car. The water was already up to my knees. Only a few more inches and the flood would be able to flow inside when I open the car door. I finally managed to get in and start the car. It was still working. Thank God. With my father paving the way for me in his bigger vehicle, I was able to get out of the deep flood with no problems. The only problem now is that the new set clothes I changed into were soaked. Even if I was carrying my Gucci, I couldn't watch the concert looking/feeling like a drowned rat. I had to rush to the mall to get new set of clothes so I wouldn't be chilly the rest of the night. Thank God for Havin A Baby. Their sale items were nice enough. ----------------------...
