Survivors in Hong Kong - Day 4

This is the last day of our trip. We decided to have breakfast in our room that morning. It would give us more time to prepare for our departure that day. We had lots of left-over bread from last night. It went down well with jerky from Bee Cheng Hiang.

Our first stop was LV. Unfortunately, it was still closed at 10AM. We decided to hit the nearest outlet of Bee Cheng Hiang again to replenish the stock that we finished off. We got extra to bring home with us. Hopefully, LV would be open by then already.

We had to wait some more. It was so silly, people scampered around the main entrance as the doors were about to open. I was one of those silly people. I did not want to wait in line since we do have time. We needed to go back to the hotel to finish packing by 1145 so we can check out by 12.

The LV boutique along Canton Road stood out in its metallic "Damier" walls. It shone brightly in broad daylight. I was amazed to see that the store had three levels. All levels were occupied by LV fanatics. However, with all those LV merchandize, I didn't find anything I like. The one that I was hoping to get was the Damier Neverfull that wasn't available in HK. Oh well. Vic was teasing me about missing an opportunity to own another LV.

I checked out Gucci and Chanel. Still nothing tugged my heart/wallet.

Vic wanted to get a pair of work-out shoes and a duffel bag to fit the excess items in our luggage. It would be faster if he went without us (Johann and me) so we just stayed inside Harbor City while he headed for the nearest Addidas.

Lunch was at Food Republic. The rest of our group had lunch there, as well. We should've gone there for our meals. The meals were tasty and very affordable. The serving size was big enough for two people. Even Johann, who was very picky then, enjoyed his Wonton noodles.

Last on our list that day was to visit Granville for some more shopping. Bossini was a hit. They sold slacks at HK$89 and blouses at HK$69. I got some of those plus several more items for less than HK$700. We definitely needed to get a cheap-o wheelie to accommodate the additional stuff.

We raced back to the hotel from Granville in 15mins. We had just enough time to transfer some stuff into the new wheelie.

We never thought that we'd survive four days without a yaya. Well, we had no choice but to make it work. Vic would often say to Johann, "Behave, or else, iiwan siya sa instik." I doubt if the little boy understood what he was saying.

We were rushing all the time. We could've gone to so many other places. We could've shopped till we dropped. Inspite of all those, the trip was fun. I'd like to go back and explore places we failed to visit. Maybe, when the kids are bit older?

I forgot to mention that I also got a Gucci from a luxury bag shop along Haiphong. It looks authentic, with all the security tags and Gucci cards inside the bag. It is a black tote back in Guccissima leather. It is definitely a better choice than the coated canvas of the Damier Neverfull.

Excited

That is how I felt when I got up from bed this morning. There are just so many things to do and to look forward to this week. I'd have to... ... get hold of CCP to discuss a possible tie-up for the next Three Festival. I may need to get some contacts from Tito Bal. ... get the space application form from Ayala Malls. ... visit the furniture fair at SMX this weekend. ... get a new copy of our marriage certificate for Vic's Visa renewal. ... obtain franchise terms from my top two food chains. ... interview the new househelp prospect. ...see if we can finally sell our SUV to make room for a bigger one. I hope I can get started soon. I hope Javi's yaya gets well right away so I can slip and get some of these done.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will turn in their graves seein

Life Lately

For several months now, my husband and I have been juggling the EV importing business and this ambulatory center we are putting up.  In August, we hosted a grand birthday party for FIL, received balikbayans then sent them off.  The kids started school in August too.  Did I say that their schools are quite far from each other? It has been a busy past few months.  I am not used to waking up early every morning to bring the kids to school then head off to work.  I am starting to feel tired.   It is an adjustment.  At first, I was enjoying being an "empty nester" when all kids are in school.  But now that work is piling up, I miss those quiet times at home.   I am so looking forward to having a vacation soon. I need to recharge.
