Now that the kids' nannies are back, I can finally fill you in about our Holy Week.
-------------------
Ours officially starts on Maundy Thursday. On this day, most people witness the re-enactment of the Last Supper. For us, it is the day we visit seven churches and recite the Way of the Cross. This year's Visita Iglesia is quite hurried mainly because of the shortened version we have in our prayer booklet. The kids weren't with us also so going around was a lot quicker. We were able to squeeze in some time to grocery-shop.
The following Friday, we headed to Tagaytay to be with the rest of Vic's family. Going there without the yaya was quite manageable. Javi was asleep the whole time. Johann was busy looking at all the cars and trucks on the road. It was a good decision to wait till Friday because the rest of the vacationing public were already off the SLEX. We were in Tagaytay in less than two hours, all the way from the far side of QC. We headed to the house in Pacific Heights, but no one was there except for the help. Good! The place was quiet enough for the kids to take their naps.
That evening, we were informed that dinner will be at Antonio's. It was the ultimate temptation when you're trying to fast and abstain. Trust Vic's dad to pull something like that. Excempted na kasi siya! Apparently, he knows the wife of Tonyboy E.
We were given several starters to try out (Foie Gras pate, Bulalo and Raclette). Everything was so good. Vic and I veered away from the steak and settled for the Seafood Rissotto and the Seafood Sampler.
Unfortunately, we didn't stay for dessert. It took them two and a half hours to serve everything.
It's just a pity that the crowd I am with did not realize how special that place is. We were dining with kids. All their concerned about is having their food right away. It was too late already. Besides, they were tired and sleepy.
----------------------
Though Vic and I failed to adhere to the required fasting and abstinence last Good Friday, I think we made up for it through our week-long "quality time" with the kids. Holding on to our patience was our penance for the Holy Week. Mahirap pero kaya
