Inspired

I saw an episode of Oprah featuring Gayle's Sandwich Search. One of the featured sandwiches is Cafe Muse's Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich. It has tomato, basil, Havarti, Fontina and European butter topped honey. Gayle gave it a 5/5 rating.

You know me, I easily get inspired. I remembered that I have the basic ingredients for my own version of Grilled Cheese Sandwich. I had the panini-maker brought out from its hiding place. Here is what I concocted.

Kesong Puti Panini:
2 slices of bread
spreadable butter
Mountain Maid Strawberry Preserve
Kesong Puti slices

*On the bread, spread butter and jam according to your liking. Set cheese slices on top. Place the two layers of bread in the panini-maker. Grill to perfection.

**You may use cottage cheese if you do not have Kesong Puti. You just have to drain it really well. Mozzarella would work, too.

I finished it off with my home-made iced coffee:

1/2 cup low fat milk
2 Tbsps Nescafe Ice Java - Chocolate Mocha
1/2 cup ice cubes

Yum! Try it yourself.

Gratitude Calendar 11/5

I have always been afraid of the dark.  But growing up and becoming a parent, I have learned to overcome that (along with other fears), so that my children will not grow up fearing trivial things.

Luxury Bags in Japan

We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Gratitude Calendar 2024

I stumbled upon a "challenge" that I thought would be fun and something I can actually do.  I think this will help change my mindset and prepare me for the coming holidays.  Here goes.... Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
