Wall Art

In two weeks, we'll start the bidding the contract for our expansion. Our target completion date is August. By then, I'm sure I'll be clamoring for decors as I did the last time. The most difficult of all was looking for something to hang on the walls. I mainly selected mirrors and sacred images for my walls. The most artistic touch I had were the blown up prints of my friend's shots of our European trip.

It's not that I am not into art. I am just not an expert in that subject. I just know what I like. What looks good to others may not necessarily look good to me.

When it comes to art, I am easy to please. I usually settle for those that are not too complicated. I admire the work of Kerry Hallam, Mark Eliot Lovett, Liudmila Kondakova, Jia Lu, Vladimir Volegov and Tomsz Rut. Their works reflect the natural beauty of the European scenery and the intricacy of the human body. The detail in their work is remarkable. The "Magic Realism" found in Rob Gonzalves' work is refreshing and always a welcome surprise.

Their works may be found in this Fine Art Gallery. This collection is highly recommended, apart from the various selections under their safe-keeping. You're bound to find something you'll like. That is coming from an non-expert like me.

We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Gratitude Calendar 2024

I stumbled upon a "challenge" that I thought would be fun and something I can actually do.  I think this will help change my mindset and prepare me for the coming holidays.  Here goes.... Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
