Virtual Travel

Travel and Food are some of the things that kept me going during this time of ECQ.  I took train rides across cities, rode on cruise ships and tasted Glühwein in this dreadful humid summer, thanks to Youtube.  I have familiarized myself with the world map too.  I now have a mental list of the next few destinations I am targeting.  Here they are in no particular order.

Santorini.  I'd like to see the deep blue colors of the Mediterranean Sea.  I do not look forward to the heat and the crowds.  But, I want to see the breath-taking view it is known for.

German Christmas Markets.  I am eyeing Hanover and Hamburg.  I have been dreaming of Christmas markets for 2 years now.  But, Christmas is the busiest time for most of us that I can't imagine how I can unload my responsibilities on an unsuspecting person.

Istanbul.  I would love to be in the middle of the Turkish market, see the mosques and taste the traditional Turkish breakfast.  I'd like to bring home some lovely ceramic items or lamps.

Tuscany.  Maybe we'd rent a car so we can take a leisurely drive along the vineyards.  Tuscany is big in Agri-tourism.  I can just imagine being in the middle of fields, and gastronomic adventures we'd be taking.

Philippine beaches.  I want to visit my province in the Visayas and enjoy the beach.  I am not talking about commercialized beach properties.  I prefer private beach properties with warm waters, that do not require entrance fees.

I dream of the time when we can all travel freely.  But since we're confined in our homes, virtual travel would have to suffice.

Gratitude Calendar 11/5

I have always been afraid of the dark.  But growing up and becoming a parent, I have learned to overcome that (along with other fears), so that my children will not grow up fearing trivial things.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Gratitude Calendar 2024

I stumbled upon a "challenge" that I thought would be fun and something I can actually do.  I think this will help change my mindset and prepare me for the coming holidays.  Here goes.... Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
