For weeks now, Johann has been pestering everyone (me, his dad, his ninangs, his grandparents) to get him a sidecar. He meant a bike with the sidecar attachment. He's been very creative in integrating the word "sidecar" in every conversation. We'd tell him that he has to wait till his birthday. We talk about this everyday. You can just imagine how much he really wants his sidecar.
Last weekend, his Lolo Boy found out about this and pledged to get him one. He said he wanted a yellow sidecar. The following day, the lolo called him from the bike shop to see if wants it in another color. The little boy wants it in just one color.
Last night, my parents dropped off their gift. The boy waited patiently till 9PM. It came in yellow. I found out that my father's painter labored the whole day to change the sidecar into my son's desired color. Iba talaga pag apo.
Johann biked in our lanai till it was time for my parents to leave.

Here is Johann with Javi and my brother.
This morning, I was awakened by the big Kuya. He's asking permission if he could go down at 6am. Vic and I figured that he wanted to ride his bike. In a very placid tone, I told him No because it was too early and the yayas are still asleep. After much prodding, he went back to sleep.
This bike has been very effective luring him away from his Cars DVD. The little boy spends almost every waking our with his bike. So far, it has been used a bribe or threat whenever the boy misbehaves.
I am beginning to wonder if this bike is a good thing.

gone are the days na chato, habubulang statwa, taguan, etc. ang pampalipas oras ng mga bata.
and I agree with EW, with so much technology & crap out there for kids to play with now a day, efforts really have to be made to keep them attune to the things around them and not buried in things like a psp, etc.
on another note.. i wonder why obsessed siya with the sidecar?
I'm glad he is also quite active. Kailangan lang bantayan yun mga yaya kasi pag tinatamad, pinapanuod nila ng TV.
@PKF - One of his cousins has a sidecar but they haven't ridden it for months kasi may sira. Maybe that's why he wants his own bike.
