Yet Another Year Older (and Hopefully Wiser)

Tomorrow marks another year for me. Since my birthday almost always falls on the Holy Week, it is just apt to look back and reflect.

I never thought that at this age, I'd be a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) to two toddlers. I used to think that by this time, I'd still be in the corporate jungle or be self-employed, making a name for myself.

It all began five years ago. I resigned from work then a week later, Vic and I found out that we're having our first-born. I didn't realize that several years later, I am still managing the home and anticipating the birth of our third child.

Though I still yearn to become a more successful person outside the home, I am glad that, in the future, I will not regret spending enough time with my family. There is comfort in knowing that I haven't failed (YET) in the most important thing.

I do miss the financial independence. Sometimes, I wonder, what I did with all the money I earned. I realized that I could've bought myself a new bag every month. I should've started with that fetish when I could still afford it. Nyahahaha.

Seriously, I am thankful that I still have the luxury to do what I want in life (travel, sing, shop, eat, bake, cook) and have a support system that understands the way I live my life. I am grateful that though we do not live in abundance we are still comfortable. We get by, without having to worry about too much. I thank God that I survived the trials he threw my way.

For the coming year/s, I pray that God continues to bless our home, our health and the people close to my heart. I do not wish for anything material, though God knows (and Vic knows) that it is very much welcome.

Hopefully, in the next few months I'd be able to fulfill and focus on one of the things I plan on doing. Sarado muna ang tindahan ni Cutty, okay?

Cheers!

Gratitude Calendar 11/5

I have always been afraid of the dark.  But growing up and becoming a parent, I have learned to overcome that (along with other fears), so that my children will not grow up fearing trivial things.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Gratitude Calendar 2024

I stumbled upon a "challenge" that I thought would be fun and something I can actually do.  I think this will help change my mindset and prepare me for the coming holidays.  Here goes.... Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
