Taiwan Day 2 - Taipei

Since it was a Sunday, hearing mass is part of the schedule. At 10am, we heard mass at St. Christopher's Parish in the Philippine Area. In just a few minutes, I sensed that this is one celebration that the OFWs looked forward to. The Eucharist was celebrated by a Filipino priest. The rest of the servers, including the choir, is made up of Filipinos. It felt like their family away from home.

Tagalog songs were sung. They had drums, keyboard and guitar. Some of the songs were too "Aegis" for my taste. However, their expression was clearly a sincere offering to the Lord. It was a lively mass, one that I am not used to. After the mass, we rendered five songs. I am glad that mass-goers enjoyed our music.

Afterwards, we proceeded to the Taipei Fine Arts Museum for a press conference. Apparently, we were the choir who opened the festival. We sang our "greatest hits" after the Finnish choir. It was quite unfortunate because the all-female Finnish choir sounded really good. Some of your songs were crowd-pleasers. "I'll Be There" was a mess. We went back to the hotel after that, hoping for a better performance that night.

We had a couple of hours to rest before our the opening concert. Some went around Taipei. I stayed in the room to rest. After all, we were there to sing. I'd better be prepared it.

Our third performance was held at the National Concert Hall. It was better than the second performance. We finished off hoping that the next night would be better.

I felt that we earned our food and board that day. I never realized that singing in three short engagements could be so tiring. Sinulit din ang pamasahe namin.

Gratitude Calendar 11/5

I have always been afraid of the dark.  But growing up and becoming a parent, I have learned to overcome that (along with other fears), so that my children will not grow up fearing trivial things.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
