The Spa Experience

I went to the mall yesterday to do some errands and to check out the shoe models that I wanted Vic to bring home. With one last thing unaccomplished, I decided to kill time and enjoy a relaxing foot massage.

Upon entering The Spa, I was greeted by a Balinese-inspired interior. At the reception area, I was asked to choose my preferred service from their menu. I couldn't decide between the Feetish Foot Spa (P350, 45mins) or the Peppermint Foot Rub (P750, 60mins). Since I needed the massage more than anything, I got the latter. Upon deciding, I was asked to pay upfront. (This was a first for me, as most spas usually perform the service before asking for the service fee.)

I was directed to the Ladies' door. The small reception area opened up to a deep and dark hallway that led to wet areas and massage cabanas. An attendant showed me my locker and handed me a robe, towel and slippers. Since I was just having my feet pampered, I begged off on the robe and towel.

Sitting on the La-Z-boy with my feet soaking in warm water, I realized that that was my second visit to the spa that week. The first one was a pre-natal massage at the Natural Spa. Being pregnant brings out all the soreness in my body. Hay. Going back....

The first 20 minutes was devoted to soaking, scrubbing and sloughing. The remaining time was spent on massaging each leg and foot. Imagine, at least 2o minutes of massage on one leg alone? It amazed me that there are still strokes that quite unfamiliar to me. It brought new sensations to my leg. I swear, it was so relaxing. I was trying really hard not to fall asleep. In my fully reclined La-Z-boy, it was very difficult.

After an hour of foot pampering, I knew I wouldn't be able to stand up. My knees turned into jelly.

The Spa is definitely a must-try establishment. The skill of their therapists and attentiveness of their staff is so refreshing for a spa-buff like me. I am contemplating on getting a membership from them.

Gratitude Calendar 11/5

I have always been afraid of the dark.  But growing up and becoming a parent, I have learned to overcome that (along with other fears), so that my children will not grow up fearing trivial things.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Gratitude Calendar 2024

I stumbled upon a "challenge" that I thought would be fun and something I can actually do.  I think this will help change my mindset and prepare me for the coming holidays.  Here goes.... Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
