Hello There!

Months have passed.  Rainy days have come and gone.  Christmas is coming up in a few weeks. I still haven't found the time to update this blog till now.

We survived another round of quarterly exams.  It was a lot easier this time.  Though, Math and Filipino are getting difficult to teach.  This Singapore Math style is just complicating things, IMHO.  Filipino, on the other hand, is still difficult though it is our first language.  I really don't understand why.  I am not sure if we can maintain Johann's performance in the previous quarter.  I hope we do.

Javi is still very playful.  He is still very choosy when it comes to friends.  He is very much into Avengers, Toy Story and the iPad.  His 5th birthday is coming up in a few weeks so I am preparing for that too.  We've been counting down to the Big Day since June.  I couldn't decide what to give him for his birthday because he has a different request every night.  I have lots of developmental goals for him so I plan on spending more time with him before Baby #4 comes.

Bettina has grown a lot since school started.  We've agreed to stop bottle-feeding by January 2014.  I hope we don't have weaning problems.  Her teacher has noticed positive changes in her since June.  I hope it continues.  She never fails to make us laugh with her funny faces and antics.  I am seeing a future leader in her.  That's just me sugar-coating her bossiness.

Vic and I have become busy with work (and other stuff) that weekends are really for staying in and relaxing.   We've seen about 3 movies since June.  That's how busy we've been.  We are taking it a day at a time.

As for upcoming trips, there's nothing major for me to be excited about.  No year-end trip this time.  Maybe after the Baby #4 comes, we can take the kids somewhere nice.  Beyond that, I haven't made any concrete plans.  I am waiting for God's plan to reveal itself to me.

How have you been?

Gratitude Calendar 11/5

I have always been afraid of the dark.  But growing up and becoming a parent, I have learned to overcome that (along with other fears), so that my children will not grow up fearing trivial things.

Luxury Bags in Japan

Since almost everyone I know visited Japan this summer, I would like re-live my visit this year through this post.  This time, I will focus on luxury bags. We've heard about the usual reseller shops that house these luxury brands.  The one I can remember now is Daikokuya. I must've visited almost all reseller shops I've seen on the road.  I've noticed that these shops carry the top 3 popular ones:  Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  There still are several pieces of Balenciaga, Valentino, Tory Burch, Celine, Gucci and Michael Kors but not as abundant as the top 3.  I guess what carries the most value are the three popular ones. If you are looking for cheap designer bags, I suggest checking out Don Quixote.  You will usually find on the topmost floors on Donki.  I think this is the one in Shinjuku. I am not so sure. You find them arranged like this or inside locked glass cabinets.  I'm sure the artisans who made these bags will tu...

Gratitude Calendar 2024

I stumbled upon a "challenge" that I thought would be fun and something I can actually do.  I think this will help change my mindset and prepare me for the coming holidays.  Here goes.... Today, I am grateful for the following: 1.  Time for prayer 2.  Convenience of travel and parking when we visited the cemetery 3.  Free lunch
