Yes, I know it has been a while. Summer has come and gone. A lot has happened this summer and I can't wait to share them all with you.
Now that all kids are in school, I am supposed to have more time in my hands. But that is just the complete opposite. Dealing with the kids assignments and other requirements leave me stressed. Hahaha. It's as if I'm the one who went back to school. We just have to determine our routine and it will be smooth-sailing from there. I hope.
Bettina is a nursery student now. She was expecting to see Javi's former teacher to greet her. So when the new teacher greeted her, she was shy to go inside the room. I had to stay with her for 30 minutes. She is slowly getting the feel of the class and the pre-school experience. Outside the classroom, I am amazed by her independence and maturity. She knows what she wants and communicates that really well. She is sometimes mistaken as Javi's big sister. Well, she IS big for her age.
Javi has become more confident in school. He knows his place and follows instructions really well. Though he is a quick learner, we still have to work on his appetite for learning and food. Like most kids his age, he needs less distraction. Waking him to get ready for school is still difficult.
Kuya Johann is a 1st-grader. Now that he is in the big school, we'd have to supply every little item. I can't believe how expensive his things are. We've been spoiled in pre-school. We came to school on the first day, with recycled items because I just remembered everything the last minute.
Johann has been very helpful to us when we travel. He can be asked to watch over his siblings when his Dad and I are tending to other things. I love the fact that he is becoming a very responsible big brother. His leadership and decisiveness just proves that he is no longer our little boy.
As for Vic and me, well, we are our children's chauffeurs. We still have to devise a way to make trips to school more economical in terms of cost and time. It's just the 2nd week and we are exhausted already. I miss sleeping in. I miss "Belgium".
Sending kids to school is such an expensive experience.
