Early Birthday Present

For weeks now, Johann has been pestering everyone (me, his dad, his ninangs, his grandparents) to get him a sidecar. He meant a bike with the sidecar attachment. He's been very creative in integrating the word "sidecar" in every conversation. We'd tell him that he has to wait till his birthday. We talk about this everyday. You can just imagine how much he really wants his sidecar. Last weekend, his Lolo Boy found out about this and pledged to get him one. He said he wanted a yellow sidecar. The following day, the lolo called him from the bike shop to see if wants it in another color. The little boy wants it in just one color. Last night, my parents dropped off their gift. The boy waited patiently till 9PM. It came in yellow. I found out that my father's painter labored the whole day to change the sidecar into my son's desired color. Iba talaga pag apo. Johann biked in our lanai till it was time for my parents to leave. Here is Johann with Javi and ...

100 Ways to Show Love to Your Wife HER Way

This link was shared by my husband's friend. You may want to share this with your other married friends. (Author Unknown) Discuss this list with your wife. Ask her to check the ones meaningful to her, and then have her arrange them in the order she considers important. Use this list to learn what speaks “love” to her. It’s most likely very different from what speaks “love” to you. 1. Start and/or end each day by holding hands and praying together with your wife. 2. Pray for her every day and make it a point to pray with her when she is troubled. 3. Communicate with her instead of talking AT her or shutting her out emotionally. 4. Talk to her respectfully without demeaning her or hurting her feelings. 5. Compliment her for the giftedness you see in her. Be specific. 6. Show interest in her friends and give her time to be with them. 7. Do something active together to lift her spirit —even taking a walk hand-in-hand. 8. Express to her that you need and value her. 9. Show ent...

Every Drop Counts

When we got out of the hospital, Bettina's pediatrician didn't recommend any milk formula like what she did with my two previous kids. I knew then that I'd be forced to purely breastfeed her. All along, I had my mind set on mix-feeding her. As most of us have heard, breastfeeding comes with a lot benefits for both baby and mom. But, seldom do we read about the inconveniences and pain that come with it. I didn't know that it was going to hurt every time. When the baby latches and sucks for the first time, there'll will always be pain. However, the pain will eventually go away. I am just not sure if it's because I've grown numb or if the pain is really gone. Secondly, I'd have to empty out the milk every two to three hours. Otherwise, my chest will grow heavy with milk. This means, I'd have to bring Bettina or my pump wherever I go. It also means that I'd have to limit my time away from home to three hours. Thirdly, I can not nurse every w...

Fire Sale

I was able to go after all. Apparently, there was no need to feel sorry for myself for missing the sale . Hehe. I went on the third day. Most of the racks and stands were already empty. It was obvious that the remaining items were "napagpilian" already. A lot of people swarmed all over the Lacoste boutique. Even if they were on sale, they're still quite expensive. Generally speaking, most of the fire sale items I saw were 30% off the retail price. There were very few at 70% off the regular price. Maybe that's why the lines aren't that long anymore. There were lots of people though the crowd was manageable. I was hoping to get Bettina's baptismal garb but it wasn't on the racks. I was also hoping that the perfume I've been eyeing since March is on sale. Unfortunately, it is not. I didn't get a bag, though Vic said I could get one as his Mother's Day present (plus birthday, Valentine's and giving birth to Bettina). There was noth...

Huhuhu

Rustan's is having a sale and I am stuck at home!!! Items affected by the fire are at 70% discount. Knowing that luxury items are the ones directly above the fire, I'm hoping to score some of those. But NO! Nandito ako sa bahay. Sana meron pa matira by the weekend. I first heard about the sale last Sunday, when I got gifts for the doctors who attended to me and my third baby. I asked the cashier at M&S when the department store is set to open. She informed me that Rustan's will be having a sale on May 5th. I've been looking forward to this, however, I heard that the lines are so long. I'm planning to slip out for just a few hours but I don't think that is going to work. It's so disheartening. Oh well.

Say Hello...

... to the new addition to our family, Maria Bettina. She was born last Monday, April 26 at 2:50PM. On the three normal deliveries I've had, she's the one who gave me the least problems during labor and delivery. As some of you may know, I was at 1cm for over two weeks. Then, two days after my expected due delivery date, my water bag leaked. It was at 4:45am that I felt the uncontrollable liquid discharge. I wasn't feeling any contractions but it seemed that it was time. When I called my mother to check, she suggested that I should head to the hospital right away to beat the Monday morning rush. Apparently, I was leaking. It was frustrating because it's like peeing uncontrollably every time I'd experience contractions . When the ROD examined me, I was still at 1cm. They gave me meds to hasten the contractions and the dilation. In less than four hours, I was ready to deliver Bettina. I don't think she looks like me. At first glance, she looks like Johan...
